The Bar Astor is known for the good food, good drinks and for its golden age’s atmosphere (40’s decoration and “lambelambe” posters). Their most loyal clients are advertisers, designers and artists.
In order to promote the place, translating a bit of the bar's vibe, it was launched the Astor Advertising Award. Participants should create posters inspired by the theme, “practicing debauchery”.
Inspired by the work of A. M. Cassandre, and especially by his posters for the French wine Dubonnet, I have created a piece that represents the bohemian pleasure of drinking. The illustration style refers to the environment from Astor.
