As an academic proposal, we were tasked with creating a magazine devoted to the sport. From its visual identity, to what its stories should be about.
We chose something that we had in common and that is present in our day-to-day. We chose running and we proposed a free communication vehicle aimed to the urban dweller sponsored by brands of interest.
We thought of a Brazilian name, "Aîapé", from the Tupi-Guarani, "surface." We idealize an agitated reader, someone who wants to learn about music, culture, cinema, health and, of course, a more relaxed form of running driven by passion and not just for efficiency.
About it’s graphic design, we used essentially 3 font families: the Gotham (titles); Scala (body text) and Helvetica (support elements). The format of the magazine is 175mm x 260mm and its grid consists of 6 columns.
